NEW REFRIGERATOR:  During the past month, the UWF purchased a new refrigerator which is now in the church kitchen.  Some of the cupboard space is being renovated to make room for the new appliance.  Stop by and check it out.  In 2022 we also installed new flooring in the dining room and replaced the 10 burner stove and ovens (thank you Arend family who donated the stove).  We also hosted funeral services, a Fellowship Meal in August, and assisted with the Veterans Tribute Concert reception. Thank you everyone for the many hours of work on rummage, sales, etc., which help to make these types of events and improvements possible.
RUMMAGE TEAM:  We meet on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 11:00am to sort and mark incoming rummage.  Help is always welcomed and appreciated.
NOTEThank you to all who helped with the 2022 Fall Rummage Sale which occurred Thur., October 13 thru Fri., October 15.  Our sales total was over $3,200.  Our next sale will be held in April 2023.

FELLOWSHIP MEAL:  The UWF hosted a Fellowship Meal the evening of August 13th.  Guests enjoyed a wonderful dish to pass meal, great company, and musical entertainment by Nancy Schrader.  We also celebrated the installation of the new church kitchen stove and ovens which were generously donated by Elie & George Bump and the Arend Family in honor of their parents.  Free Will Donations were received, and we were able to donate $253 to the Emmanuel Free Lunch Program.

2022 Fellowship Hall Flooring Project:

The United Methodist Women (UMW) recently completed the Fellowship Hall Floor Project (Dining Room).  This project was possible due to our entire church family’s support and help at our various fund raisers such as the Rummage Sales, Spring Bazaar and Christmas Cookie Sale.  Also, Thank You to Don Combes, Rusty Havert and Scout Troop 122.  The Scouts removed the old piano from the dining room, moved the numerous chairs and tables from the dining room into the kitchen, and then back again after completion of the project.

Starting late last Fall, a UMW subcommittee of Nancy Schrader, Rita Clark, and Eileen Godfrey, met with three vendors to obtain quotes and consider flooring material options. The UMW chose carpet tiles for the material.  If we have a large stain, we can pop out a tile and replace it.  We purchased some extra tiles to have on hand if a repair is needed.  Previously the carpet had been replaced in 1972 (picture below) and 2001.

We chose BB Binding located in Palmyra as the vendor, and the installer was Tom Kirsch, his son Tom and helper Jonah.  After removing the old carpet, the underlay was very rough so we decided to move forward with new subfloor before installing the carpet.  Tom & Tom began the installation on February 14, 2022, and completed the project on February 24, 2022.  The entire project cost was $12,621.  Once the project was completed, the final step was to patch the paint along the baseboard.  This was completed by Janie Reeder.

To celebrate the completion of the project, the UMW hosted a Coffee Hour in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, March 13th at 11:00am.

CRAFTERS:  Meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 11:00am until 12:30pm in the kitchen and scout areas.
