There will be two Bible Studies offered at Newark FUMC this fall:
- The Chosen, Season 5
- Using the Bible to learn what it means to be a Christian.
Please sign up on the Communication Table.
- The Chosen, Season 5: 9/16/26-11/11/26. 9:30am – 11:00am in the Newark FUMC Lounge. Led by Rev. Garry McCaffery.
Beginning Wed., Sept. 16th, we will continue our journey through “The Chosen” series. This season will focus on “The Last Supper”. You are invited to join us on this journey. Even if you haven’t participated before, come and join us! It is never too late to get started as we explore the life of Jesus and his disciples. We start with prayer, enjoy some light refreshments, and then watch an episode. Afterwards we spend some time reflecting and talking about the events we’ve seen and how they align with what we read in the gospels. Together we have a good time of fellowship, sharing, and growing together in the love of Christ for each other.
2. New Bible Study hosted by Chad Sheckler – Using the Bible to learn what it means to be a Christian. Starting Tues., Sept. 15th at 7:00pm for 6 weeks, at the Shecklers, 45 Main St., Phelps.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Rom 10:9). This verse is a doorway that we have to walk through on our path to becoming a follower of Christ. The questions that I think about are: 1. How do we get to that doorway with our minds and heart? and, 2. How do we live our lives after we pass through this door?
This study is intended to help people gain confidence in the Bible and what it teaches about how to love as followers of Christ.
