United Women in Faith (UWF): A community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Handy Man Ministries: United Methodist men of Newark First UMC meet the second Saturday of each month at 8:00am at the church for coffee & donuts, scripture and prayer. From 9 to 11am they work to complete handyman projects for the church, its members or within our community. “We are loosely organized and are proof that when you put a bunch of ‘can do’ men together, good things happen. We are good at what we do. We love what we do. To the men who have not been involved – we would love to have you join us. To everyone else – we would love to help you. Newark First UMC Trustees: A group of nine assigned members meet monthly on the second Thursday at 7:00pm to manage the properties and projects for Newark First UMC, including the church building, parsonage, apartments and garages. Recent projects have include new sanctuary lighting, refinished sanctuary hardwood floors, fire & security upgrades, roof repair, downstairs bathroom renovation, lounge renovation, etc. Questions or potential projects may be referred to Chairperson Chad Sheckler or any Trustee.
