CALL TO WORSHIP: (Psalm 16) Leah Talbot L: Come, bless the Lord who guides us, whose wise teaching directs our days and focuses our minds at night; whose presence sustains us and surrounds us here. P: We bless the Lord who is present among us. We will not be shaken or live in fear, but will sing God’s praise and worship with joy!

PRAYER OF INVOCATION: Leah Talbot: Lord of Love and Light, shine through our darkness, bringing us hope. Open our hearts for the journey, our eyes for the light, our spirits for the peace which You bring. Fill our mouths with laughter and speech with shouts of joy that we shall reveal the love with which You surround us. We offer this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ who came into the world bringing Your hope, love, peace, and joy. Amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Leah Talbot: Everlasting God, fountain of all life and the true home of every heart: our hearts are restless until they rest in You. Yet we confess that our hearts have been enslaved by selfish passion and worldly desires. We have sought after many things and have neglected the one thing needed. We have not loved You with our whole heart and mind and strength. Loving God, who alone can fill our deepest longings and quiet our restless hearts, help us to turn to You for forgiveness. Lead us home that we may again find in You our life and joy and peace.

WORDS OF ASSURANCE: Rev Della Ludwig: Jesus said: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Receive the good news of the gospel: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
